Etsy - Locket Love

Etsy is such a treasure trove for a jewellery-lover like me. I love these arty lockets by artist Alyson Fox, probably because I love bright colors in geometric prints. Also, the littlest initial necklace is a cool but subtle way of wearing yours or your loved ones letters. Too cute!!

Secret Life of Giles

I recently got sent some photos of Giles taken at his childcare in South Yarra, Melbourne. It was pretty cute to see what he used to get up to there - lots of playing, reading, painting, and even some beading activity! No wonder he loved it there. Apparently he is badly missed, by the carers and also the kids he was buddies with who remember him still. I bet he misses this place too, even though he doesnt really know it.

Melbourne to Perth - Part 2

Week 2 - as we headed west, the weather got warmer and the skies bluer. We spent a few days on the beach at Streaky Bay and we watched the Grand Final at the local pub. We crossed the Nullabor. We debated the differences in quality of vanilla slices we got from the small town bakeries each day. We stayed at places like Eucla, Southern Cross and the Flinders Ranges and spent our final night in the country town of York. Early the next morning we packed up and headed to Cottesloe to our new place, and 5,000kms later life in Perth is now established!

There is a story behind this one - this little green house is a rental property I bought with a friend in Norseman in 2005 for $27,500 (and it rented for $100pw). After seeing it in person I was pretty relieved we took our profit and sold it in 2008!

Melbourne to Perth - Part 1

A few select pictures from our first week on the road back to Perth - Victoria and South Australia ... This part of the journey was beaches, green pastures, yellow canola fields, cool grey skies, quaint victorian country towns, service station chicken rolls and getting in the rhythm of life on the road...
